Photography, to me, has always been about more than just documenting a moment. It’s about feeling, memory, and energy, the things you don’t realize you’ll miss until time has passed. I don’t take photos just to have them to post on social media. I take them because I want to feel something when I look back at them years later (and also post on social media). 

These days, photography can feel very standardized..

matching outfits, perfect poses, bright and heavily edited images. And don’t get me wrong, I love a polished family photo too (I have plenty). But what matters most to me is emotion. Connection. The kind of moments that feel real when you’re in them, and still feel real when you see them later.

Jacquelyn has an incredible ability to capture that. Not just how something looked, but how it FELT.  

There are so many photographers now, and so many “easy” ways to edit, filter, and “perfect” an image. But capturing a quiet moment, an energy, or an interaction, and editing it in a way that protects that feeling instead of washing it out…

is a completely different skill. That kind of restraint and intention is what makes her work ART.

I’ve trusted her with sessions that fall outside of what she typically specializes in, personal family photos, intimate moments, and branding photos for my business, simply because I TRUST her. Even when something isn’t familiar territory, she always delivers in a way that feels thoughtful, aligned, and honest.

She’s photographed people in my life who hate being in front of the camera. People who feel awkward, insecure, distracted, or unsure, including kids who don’t listen and adults who would rather disappear than pose. And somehow, every time, she captures the most human, beautiful version of them. Not the uncomfortable version, not the guarded one, but the part of them that usually stays hidden.

That’s not luck. And it’s not editing. That’s TALENT. I’ve worked with Jacquelyn six or seven times now, and every session has felt just as meaningful as the first. She doesn’t just take photos, she sees people and moments, and preserves them in a way that feels real, timeless, and deeply personal.

What she creates really does feel like magic.
